GIGABYTE sales have grown by approximately 20% every quarter. Our Premier Partner bas has grown to 109 in Q1, to 124 in Q2 and to 156 in Q3.

Mr. Sunil Grewal, Sales Head – India, GIGABYTE Technology India Pvt. Ltd, Spoke to Mr.D.Ujval Kumar,Principal Correspondent, ITCOM JOURNAL.

ITCOM JOURNAL:- Can you tell us about AM3plus black socket motherboards which Gigabyte has launched in the Indian market?

MR.SUNIL GREWAL:- The new AM3+ ‘Black Socket’ signifies support for AMD’s upcoming FX series processors, as well as backwards compatibility with AMD AM3 based Phenom II and Athlon II processors. The AM3+ ‘Black Socket’ also features more efficient power loading and improved heatsink mounting.

GIGABYTE has equipped their entire line of AM3+ CPU ready motherboards with a new black colored socket, making it easy to spot for AM3+ support. In addition, GIGABYTE “Black Socket” motherboard series offers full backwards compatibility with AMD’s current generation AM3 socket CPUs, allowing for painless migration to the AM3+ CPUs when they become available.

ITCOM JOURNAL:- How different is new series of motherboards of Gigabyte when compare to other companies.

MR.SUNIL GREWAL:- GIGABYTE’s newly launched Super 4 Motherboard series gives your four significant benefits. These benefits include Super Safe (with features such as DualBIOS™ 3TB+ HDD Support – Hybrid EFI Technology, One Fuse per USB Port and 50,000 hr. Japanese Solid Capacitors); Super Speed (with features such as Overclocking IC, Ultra Durable™ 2 and 3x USB Power Boost  + On/Off Charge); Super Savings (with features such as Lower RDS(on) MOSFETs, Ferrite Core Chokes, Lower CPU Zone Temperature, and High Power-Efficiency); and Super Sound (with features such as High-End 108dB HD Audio)

Meanwhile, GIGABYTE’s latest AM3+ motherboards feature a Split Power Plane design, with 4+1 phase VRM. This allows for more stable power delivery to the CPU, as well as help smooth out power ripple and noise which is important for clean CPU power delivery.

The GIGABYTE Ultra Durable™ 2 Classic design utilizes Solid Capacitors manufactured in Japan which are rated to last for at least 50,000 hours in operational use and also Lower RDS(on) MOSFETs which feature lower resistance, i.e. reduced power consumption and heat.

GIGABYTE On/Off Charge technology allows you to charge your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch regardless of whether your PC is on, in standby mode or even off.

GIGABYTE motherboards feature a 3x USB power boost, delivering greater compatibility and extra power for USB devices. GIGABYTE’s unique USB power design is also able to efficiently regulate output over the full voltage range, which greatly enhances USB device compatibility.

ITCOM JOURNAL:- Are you happy with the performance of Gigabyte in this fiscal year and what will be your target in coming years?

MR.SUNIL GREWAL:- In this fiscal, GIGABYTE sales have grown by approximately 20% every quarter. Our Premier Partner bas has grown to 109 in Q1, to 124 in Q2 and to 156 in Q3.

Our volume sales have witnessed a surge, while our Value Partner base has risen to over 2,500.

We intend to add more partners, increase channel penetration and spread in the upcountry market, sustain growth in established markets, strengthen post-sales infrastructure for the advantage of our partners and customers.

ITCOM JOURNAL:- How do you motivate your channel partners in the Indian market

MR.SUNIL GREWAL:- For motivating our partners, we basically have three focus areas – Channel Profitability, Product Innovation, and After-Sales Services.

Channel Profitability is ensured by regularly coming out with attractive schemes under the GIGABYTE Value Partner Program (GVPP) for Value Partners; and GIGABYTE Channel Incentive Program (GCIP) for Premier Partners.

Product Innovation has been always a major focus area for GIGABYTE, and since 2006 the company has been setting and patenting multiple quality standards every year, such as 24 Phase Power VRM, 2oz Copper PCB, Dynamic Phase Power Switching Energy Saving Technology, All Solid Capacitor, and TouchBIOS, to name a few.

After-Sales Service is the third focus area. We have in 2011 opened GIGABYTE Exclusive Service Centers in six major cities, which also act as hub for the Pan-India market. We also have appointed over 40 Premier Partners as Special Service Partners (SSPs) that basically are collection points. We are increasing the number of SSPs across the country. We have over 80 collection points in over 80 cities, and intend to spread our service support / collection point network to over 100 cities.

ITCOM JOURNAL:- What is the agenda for the Indian markets.

MR.SUNIL GREWAL:- One of key agendas is creating an ‘IT knowledge Community’ through regular System Integrator (SI) and college events. This is an ongoing process for GIGABYTE which has a commitment to conduct over 25 SI meets and 10 college events per quarter, stated Grewal.

We also want to increase both our Value Partners and Premier Partners, with a special focus on the upcountry markets. At the same time, we also want to come out with attractive schemes for our partners.
