ITCom Journal: Can you brief us about Om nanotech?
Mr. ATUL KHOSLA: We are leading manufacturer and supplier of Computer Memory (DDR I/II/III) and Pen Drives, having an ISO 9001:2008 Certified 24,000 sq. ft facility in Noida Special Economic Zone (near Delhi). We are part of well-known “Om” group having Global Headquarters in Singapore with offices in USA, Singapore, Taiwan, China and India. We have customer base in 21 countries
We are the largest manufacturers in India having own calibration/testing facility for ICs like:
• DRAM – SDR, DDR, DDR-II and DDR-III.
• Flash ICs – 2GB, 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, 10GB, 16GB, 32 GB.
Our global brands- Zipmem & Dolgix are purely ‘Made in India’ brands; Zipmem and Dolgix represent premium range of products known for quality and reliability. Zipmem, the ‘major on third’ uses highest quality of original components from leading global manufacturers and established global quality standards.
We offer an “Amazing Warranty” for our customers. Zipmem warranty is available ‘Across the counter’ from our National Service Provider through its 35 locations across the country, the details of same are on our website. The products carry a warranty of 3 years however, as opposed to current practice, the replaced product AGAIN carries FULL WARRANTY of ANOTHER 3 years.Zipmem and Dolgix are available across India through our National and Regional partners.
We also cater to a range of OEM requirements of memory modules and pen drives. Our OEM products are practically available at most of the counters across the country.We also do customized Pen Drives where we can customize the logo and special features like read only partitions, hidden partitions, secret codes etc.
ITCom Journal: What type of products and services does Om nanotech provides to the customers.
Mr. ATUL KHOSLA: Our product range includes:
(1) Computer Memory Modules:
(a) SDR -128MB, 256MB and 512MB.
(b) DDR - 512MB and 1GB.
(c) DDR-II – 512MB, 1GB and 2GB.
(d) DDR-III – 1GB, 2GB, 4GB
(e) All above are offered in SODIMM or LODIMM formats and with different speeds.
(2) Flash USB Pen Drive – 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, 10GB and 16GB.
(3) Memory Cards – Micro SD Cards, Camera Cards and Flash Cards.
(4) Industrial ICs/Chips: (a) SDRAM – 2×16, 4×16, 16 X 16, 8 X 32, 16 X 32, 64 X 8, (64mb, 128mb, 256mb, 512mb)
ITCom Journal: As you are sole manufacturer of 6GB and 10GB, how is the demand for these products in India.
Mr. ATUL KHOSLA: Yes, we are the proud sole manufacturer of 6GB and 10GB Pen Drives in India. Since, these capacities were not addressed before; our new pen drives with these unique capacities fill an existing capacity void, providing users a wider range to choose from. The drives are High speed USB 2.0 interface compliant and backward compatible with USB 1.1. The drives are supported by all the Microsoft operating systems including Vista, XP, Win 2000, 98SE, Linux 2.4 and above, providing seamless data exchange. These products have experienced a splendid response in the Indian market. We have tied up with a number of local distributors in variousregions of India. With the help of our distributors and our nationwide helpline we aim to widen our reach throughout the nation and meet the ever rising demand.
ITCom Journal: How far are you successful in the Indian market when compared to other companies?
Mr. ATUL KHOSLA: We feel there is enough market for a quality product that carries a genuine warranty and a ‘Made in India’ tag. The market is dominated by overseas manufacturers who have mostly opened a skeleton office with limited staff in India whereas we have a 24000 sq. ft. facility in Noida and have a workforce of 450 people. Our facility has a strong R&D and Engineering team that are able to provide local technical support to anyone who needs. Currently there is hardly any Indian manufacturer that is undertaking the complete end-to-end activity – From Dram/Chip testing till manufacturing of the end products Computer memory modules, Pen drives.
The Indian memory/flash market itself is growing at a rapid force and we feel that the pie is big enough for all the genuine players. We feel we can happily co-exist with the competition.
ITCom Journal: What type of support and training you are providing to the channel partners in India.
Mr. ATUL KHOSLA: The products that we manufacture are standard products which do not require any special user training. These are plug-n-play devices having no operational controls and as such do not require any operations training.
However, for the partners who do not have basic knowledge about such products, we have a training module which gives the basics of the product. In some cases we organize the factory visit also. For any technical queries or specific issues we have a separate Engineering Department that provides relevant information. Our Channel Partners can also discuss future technology roadmaps with our Engineering Department.
We do provide training related to our RMA policies and product/customers handling for RMA. We also share with the Channel Partners some of the FAQ’s and the compatibility issues that may arise with the customers. We do share information on competition analysis and product appreciation and differentiation.

ITCom Journal: What are your expansion plans?
Mr. ATUL KHOSLA: Om Nanotech’s products are currently sold in 21 countries and also across India. We are targeting to make ZipMem available in 50 countries in next 2 years. We are in the process of setting up SSD production in very near future. We are in talks with Indian and Overseas companies for energy efficient LED special purpose lights, mini solar plants that are usable in villages or captive applications, mini wind turbines as well as solar farms for commercially production of electricity. All these products are at different stages of evaluation.
